Still Life

Court set up a still life for our weekly painting day. I have no interest in painting still lifes, and think they are boring as dirt. I did however give it a shot anyways.

I really found the challenge to be fun and a great learning experience. Every time I paint in oils I learn something new. Something that I'm sure I can use in painting other subjects, like figures, or landscapes. I feel like that kid that wouldn't eat green eggs and ham, and after he had a bite, he really liked it, and realized they aren't that bad.

critiques are welcome

En Plein Air with Court Jones

One day I lugged all my paint equipment to the beach. It was my first landscape in oil, and I learned alot, from the experience, but mostly what not to do. I actually was married on the beach in the lower right in front of the big rock 5 years ago.

La Jolla

So Court Jones and I have been painting outdoors on Wednesdays. The first time out was an adventure, and my painting really didn't come out the way I envisioned it. It will never be viewed by human eyes, again.

Court is a great instructor, and really knows his stuff. I feel like I'm improving, but there is still alot to learn.

Beast Heads!

We lit Lil Kev on fire, for just a little while.

I was working on 40+ hours of sobriety, and hanging out with a few caricature artist from Sea World San Diego, and Texas.
Man I was so sober I don't know what was going on.
