November 30 Days of Drawing (Day 9) Cody!

Cody from my friend Will Terrell's Superzeros. He's one of the characters that Will draws in his online comic. Lots of fun, and entertaining characters, and I really dig on his colors.

Colors, amp, cords and a few wardrobe changes coming soon.

November 30 Days of Drawing (Day 7) Anki!

My wife is kind enough to let me torture her by drawing her endlessly and needlessly over and over, and over again. I have maybe over 100 drawings and paintings of her. With various degrees of quality. I love her, and she is my favorite model.
Prismacolor Tuscan Red, and white pencil. I liked how the nose, and how the hair came out.
I drew this a month ago, but I have it here for comparison. I like the shadows and value range, but the hair needs to be rendered more, among other things.

November 30 Days of Drawing (Day 6) Violins!

Violins!
On Mondays, Leksands Spelmanslag, the folk instrument players in Leksand get together, practice, and jam. Its great music to draw too. I was invited to come draw while they played. A little hard to do since they move so much and their expressions change often, but great fun! Their was a couple of warm up sketches I did before these that didn't make the cut.
Magnus Sanden. 1 hour. Could use a little more detail in the hand and arm. Magnus is a good friend here in Leksand. He can sing any song and play any instrument.

 Warm-up 20mins

November 30 Days of Drawing (Days 1-4)

MOOSE!
For November I'm going to do at least one drawing a day and try to post it each day.
The first four days of November I was drawing moose for an upcoming book I'm working on. TBA
After drawing moose for 4 days i think I'm about 50% the way there. They are alot harder to draw then I thought. Harder to draw than houses. Which I thought at first they where just horses with big horns. I have come across 5 moose in Sweden two of which were a mother and her offspring crossing the road. They are very peaceful and beautiful to watch graze or stride.

The bottom one I tried to make the antlers look more like a crown, as they did in the picture. In Sweden the moose, called elk (älg), are the kings of the forest and their antlers symbolize their crown.
My favorite out of the bunch. The eye needs a little work.

Rolf Markusson Svensk glasmästare ( Swedish glazier )

Rolf has taught me how to make stained glass windows, how to be a glazier, and about patience. I wanted to do a painting of Rolf. He'll be 72 soon. Maybe have it done for his birthday. The first step is to do a pencil study. Then a small burnt sienna pick-out. I don't know if I will complete a full color painting, but we'll see.

John H. Vanderpoel Studies heads, faces, and skulls

The pages were mostly text, with a few full page drawings. These were the images on the side of each page. I will try to draw the pages I left out, but for now I might take a break from the studies. I feel I was rushing through some of these drawings.

Leksand's Church Choir

I moved around the practice this time. I wanted to draw as many members as possible. Practice slowness.
