Painting of Rolf Markusson Svensk glasmästare ( Swedish glazier )

46cm X 55cm burnt sienna on canvas board
Painting based off the drawing from a previous post here. Its really an oil pick-out. Felt more like a drawing when I was painting it. Didn't rely on tiles but instead using paper towels to lighten areas or a q-tip dipped in mineral spirits for the highlights. Really fun process. One of my favorites. A little scratching in the hair with a palette knife. It will be on display at the Rättvik Kulturehus, Sweden December-January

Rolf Markusson Svensk glasmästare ( Swedish glazier )

Rolf has taught me how to make stained glass windows, how to be a glazier, and about patience. I wanted to do a painting of Rolf. He'll be 72 soon. Maybe have it done for his birthday. The first step is to do a pencil study. Then a small burnt sienna pick-out. I don't know if I will complete a full color painting, but we'll see.
